Library will stay open while repairs take place
The Wailuku Public Library will remain open while repair work is undertaken through the end of the month, although some parts of the library's collection may be inaccessible for brief periods of time.
The High Street library was damaged during the October 2006 earthquake. Officials said interior and exterior repairs include fixing cracks, realigning the stairs and landing outside the Hawai'i/Pacific Room, painting, and replacing roofing tiles where leaks were identified.
The Wailuku library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; and 1 to 8 p.m. Thursdays. For more information, call 808-243-5766.
