Boston home of Bruins, Celtics, shortens name

BOSTON — The home arena of the NHL's Boston Bruins and NBA's Boston Celtics is getting a shorter name.
Delaware North, owner and operator of the facility now known as the TD Banknorth Garden, said in a statement Wednesday that the arena will be known as the TD Garden starting in July.
The new name of the arena is consistent with TD Banknorth's rebranding of its New England operations to TD Bank.
The naming deal runs through 2025. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 19,600-seat arena that opened in 1995 to replace the old Boston Garden was originally known as the FleetCenter, It was renamed the TD Banknorth Garden in 2005.
