General fund tax take falls 6.3%

The state's general fund tax revenues fell $214.1 million, or 6.3 percent, in the first nine months of the fiscal year compared with the same period a year earlier.
The state Department of Taxation reported yesterday that general excise and use tax revenues are down 6.9 percent so far this fiscal year.
Hotel room tax collections are down 8.6 percent, and individual income tax collections are down 32.2 percent.
MILITARY RELOCATION GUIDE LAUNCHED
Prudential Locations has launched a new online military relocation guide tailored to active duty military moving to O'ahu.The interactive guide (www.prudentiallocations.com/hawaii-military-relocation-guide.asp) helps users to get to know their new surroundings as well as find a home.
The site includes a proximity search tool and map that helps home buyers find properties for sale near a specific base.
Users select an O'ahu military base and the search will identify homes within a defined mile radius.
Prudential Location's guide also features a Basic Allowance for House chart that shows users how much housing allowance by rank they might be spending on rent that could be invested in a home. It also offers detailed information on VA loans.
PRO-TRANSIT AD CAMPAIGN HONORED
McNeil Wilson Communications received an honorable mention award for its "Support Rail Transit" campaign at the 18th Annual Pollie Awards and Conference held recently in Washington, DC.The McNeil Wilson campaign was entered in the "Ballot, Referendum, and Initiative Campaigns" category. The campaign included the implementation of targeted TV and radio spots promoting a Web site encouraging visitors to "Vote Yes 4 Rail Now" and featuring daily updates and e-mail messages in support of the campaign.
The Pollie awards are given by The American Association of Political Consultants and Public Affairs Professionals to recognize excellence in the political campaign and public affairs industry.
