MLB: Upton leaves game with quadriceps injury
Associated Press
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Tampa Bay Rays center fielder B.J. Upton left today's game against the Chicago White Sox after two innings due to right quadriceps tightness.
Upton singled in his only at-bat leading off the first, and later stole third base.
Upton missed the first six games this season while recovering from offseason left shoulder surgery. He had a team-best seven homers and 16 RBIs during the 2008 postseason, helping the Rays win their first AL pennant.
