LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Dario Franchitti has won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The Scot, returning to the IndyCar Series this season after spending 2008 trying to transition to NASCAR, dominated Sunday's 85-lap event on the temporary street circuit in downtown Long Beach, finishing far ahead of runnerup Will Power, the pole-winner. It is his ninth IndyCar win and first since the 2008 season-finale at Chicagoland.
Helio Castroneves, who got back in his Team Penske car Saturday after being aquitted of federal tax evasion charges, started eighth and finished seventh.
