Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai`i outside hitter Joseph Strotman has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Strotman had a career-high 30 kills and 12 digs in the final match of the year for the Warriors, a 3-1 upset of fifth-ranked Southern California Saturday.

The junior from San Gabriel, Calif., recorded 13 kills and hit .310 in the first match of the series on Friday against USC. Overall, Strotman had 43 kills in two matches for a 6.14 kills per set average.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Strotman's career and the first for a UH player this season. BYU junior outside hitter Andrew Stewart was also named MSPF Player of the Week.
