Volunteers from Kaiser Permanente's Hawaii Facilities Department pitched in today to help Habitat for Humanity build a home for the Silva family in Waimanalo.

Three generations of the Silva family — Kimo and Donna, their two daughters and six grandchildren — currently live in a house that is too small and falling apart.

Ground was broken on their new home just over a year ago, and the Silva family and volunteers have worked every weekend since to get the home completed.
