Nanakuli brushfire contained
Honolulu firefighters have contained a five-acre brushfire this afternoon that came within a few hundred feet of homes along Maipalaoa Road in Nanakuli.
No structures were damaged, however, and no one was injured, said HFD Capt. Terry Seelig.
The blaze was reported near Mamoalii Place around 1 p.m. and contained by firefighters at 3:20 p.m., Seelig said.
Honolulu fire officials deployed three engines, three tankers and the department's Air 1 helicopter.
