Hawaii surf: North Shore on the rise
Advertiser Staff
Surf along Oahu's north-facing shores is expected to reach 8 to 10 feet today, the National Weather Service said.
Look for surf of 3 to 5 feet on all other shores, forecasters said.
Outlook through Monday, May 4: The current incoming northwest swell will peak several feet overhead tomorrow then drop steadily through the remainder of the work week.
Another small northwest swell will show up on Friday and stick around through Saturday.
Over the weekend, a more substantial pulse of northwest swell will boost the surf to the double overhead range late Saturday with a gradual decline to follow.
A fresh southern hemisphere swell will begin reinforcing surf along south-facing shores Wednesday, and more into Thursday with waist to head high surf and better consistency.
A decline will follow for south-facing shores into the weekend.
