Civil-unions supporters to deliver petition to Taniguchi, Hanabusa

Supporters of civil unions for same-sex couples will be delivering a petition to state Sen. Brian Taniguchi and Senate President Colleen Hanabusa this morning.
The group says the petition contains more than 7,300 signatures which were gathered in the past week.
Taniguchi is chair of the Senate Judiciary and Government Operations. The petition asks Taniguchi to request a waiver of referral, which will allow the bill to return to the Senate floor for a full debate and vote.
