Allison Wong has been named interim director of The Contemporary Museum to replace Georgianna Lagoria who is relocating to California, TCM board president Violet Loo announced today.

Wong was TCM's Assistant Curator and Curator of Exhibitions at the First Hawaiian Center for more than 10 years. Recently she was hired as Director of Art in Public Places and the Hawaii State Art Museum, the Hawaii State Foundation on the Culture and the Arts.

In a statement, Loo said, "Allison will bring a fresh outlook and energize the museum with bold innovative ways."

Wong will return to TCM on Aug. 18.
