A 29-year-old Pearl City man was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges Thursday, including assault against a police officer, after he allegedly drove his car into a police officer’s car, resulting in a leg injury to the police officer.
Police officers were responding to an argument call on Noelani Street about 10 a.m. when they saw the man leave his home, get into his car and drive in reverse down a neighborhood street.
When the driver reversed onto a driveway and stopped, one of the police officers blocked the man’s car with his car.
The officer, 34, got out of his car and was approaching the other car when the driver drove forward, colliding with the officer’s car and causing in a leg injury to the officer, police said.
Police arrested the driver without further incident on suspicion of driving without a license, first-degree criminal property damage, and first-degree assault against a police officer.
