All but two schools will be open on Monday

Advertiser Staff

Public school across the state will be open tomorrow, despite the threat posed by Tropical Storm Felicia, authorities said.

However, two schools, The West Hawaii Explorations Academy Charter School and Kua O ka La in Pahoa, will close on Monday, said Sandy Goya, state Department of Education spokeswoman. But all other schools will remain open.
The state Department of Education will reassess its decision on Monday if schools need to be closed, Goya said. The department will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Felicia and meet with state and county civil defense officials, Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service.
