Manti Te'o, 2 others sit out Notre Dame practice

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame tackle Sam Young, nose tackle Ian Williams and highly touted freshmen linebacker Manti Te’o did not participate in the Fighting Irish’s second practice of the day.
All three showed up about 40 minutes late Monday evening, after the media viewing period for practice was over. They wore their uniforms, but did not have pads on. All three were limping. Te’o, a Punahou alum and one of the most highly recruited football players from Hawaii, had a wrap around his right thigh.
Young is a senior who has started all 38 games in his career. Williams is a junior who started seven games last season.
Coach Charlie Weis did not speak to the media Thursday. A call seeking comment was left for spokesman Brian Hardin.
