TONIGHT'S MUST-SEES
“HOUSE,” 8 P.M., FOX
Here's a third chance to see one of the best hours of the season.
A gunman (Zeljko Ivanek) has taken over Cuddy's office, holding Dr. House and others hostage.
Even then, House can't contain his wicked sarcasm. The result is filled with taut emotions and even occasional laughs. It has a few excesses, all of which can be quickly forgiven.
"AMANPOUR REPORTS: GENERATION ISLAM,” 5 AND 8 P.M., CNN
At times in this documentary, hatred seems eternal. “If we could get our hands on a Jew, we would kill him,” a mother says in Gaza. In Afghanistan, kids sing “you'll find my body in little pieces.”
Alongside that, however, are surprising moments of hope.
A former American soldier almost died when trying to climb a mountain in Pakis tan. Nursed back to health by villagers, he has now built 79 schools.
An obstetrician lost three daughters when an Israeli missile mistakenly hit his home in Gaza; he remains a force for peace. Christiane Amanpour weaves moving moments at both extremes.
