EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.— The Minnesota Vikings have returned to practice, their quarterback competition creeping closer to resolution.
Sage Rosenfels shined with the first team offense in the first preseason game at Indianapolis, though coach Brad Childress is keeping the performance in perspective. The coach is also making sure not to put Tarvaris Jackson’s struggles in too strong of a light. Jackson will get his chance to start this week, when the Vikings play Kansas City.
Rosenfels was held out of Sunday’s practice. Childress said he was doing some running in the pool. Rosenfels suffered a slight ankle injury in Friday’s game, but he played through it and said he was all right.
Wide receiver Bernard Berrian was also missing from practice. He hurt his hamstring Friday.
