Many Honolulans begin their holiday shopping each year at the Made in Hawai'i Festival, sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank. It's an ideal opportunity to see what's new in the marketplace, especially from the Neighbor Islands.
The fair is now being produced by the newly established Made in Hawai'i Association. This year, there will be 420 booths.
Among the booths will be one called Looks Like Real Flowers, owned by entertainer Karen Keawehawaii.
The budding entrepreneur created the line of realistic-looking foam and clay flower clips, picks, hair combs and lei for women who want to wear flowers every day but may not have a plumeria tree in their yard or can't always afford to buy real flowers. She also takes orders for wedding bouquets.
The festival will feature food, fashion, beauty, music and other products from the Big Island, Kaua'i, Maui, Moloka'i and, of course, O'ahu.
