Body discovered below Pali Lookout
Fire Department personnel conducting drills near the Pali Lookout discovered the decomposing body of a person yesterday afternoon.
Capt. Robert Main, HFD spokesman, said the crew found the body at the base of the lookout between the two Pali Highway tunnels shortly after 2:30 p.m. The body was retrieved and turned over to police for investigation.
Police said there were no apparent signs of foul play. Police classified the case as an unattended death pending the outcome of an autopsy. Police were checking to see if the body matches anyone who has been reported missing.
NAVFAC HAWAI'I WINS SAFETY AWARD
Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawai'i yesterday was presented the Secretary of the Navy Safety Ashore Award in the Medium Industrial Activity category.
This is the second straight year NAVFAC Hawai'i has won the top safety award.
