Advertiser Staff

“A Hard Act To Follow,” a special gala performance celebrating the life and legacy of Elissa Josephsohn, will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at Hawaii Theatre.

Josephsohn died Thursday following a two-year battle with ovarian cancer.
The gala will be produced by Josephsohn's friends, including Broadway's Richard Vida and Burton White, the Theatre’s Artistic Director.
KSSK Morning Show hosts Perry and Price will emcee.
Josephsohn was one of the staunchest supporters of the performing arts in the Islands, bringin in shows such as “Slava’s Snowshow,” “Mama Mia!,” “Les Miz,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Cats.”
Hawaii Theatre is also dimming its lights today and tomorrow except for Josephsohn’s name and dates, a traditional Broadway honor regarded as the greatest a star can receive.
White and Vida said Josephsohn had many friends who’ve offered to perform. Notes and audio tributes are being accepted at Hawaii Theatre, 1130 Bethel Street, Honolulu, HI 96813 or via Email to: Burtonwhite@hawaiitheatre.rr.com
Seating at the gala will be on a first come first served basis, there will be no reserved seats.
