Tube Notes: 'Great Performances: Harlem in Montmarte,' Leverage'

TONIGHT'S MUST-SEES

“GREAT PERFORMANCES: HARLEM IN MONTMARTRE,” 8-9:30 P.M., PBS

As World War I ended, some black Americans were reluctant to return to a segregated world. They decided to stay in the freedom and joy of brance.
Jazz soon thrived there, with people (Josephine Baker, Sidney Bechet) drawing fame. French musicians didn't really develop their own style until Django Reihnardt met Stephane Grappelli in 1933.
That story is beautifully told, with a bonus: Modern jazzmen – dressing and posing in the old style – re-create the music. Victor Goines is the music director and woodwind player in those splendid segments, which are beautifully directed by Olivier Simmonett.

“LEVERAGE” SEASON-FINALE, 6 AND 8 P.M., TNT

The team faces another group of scam artists who almost mirror it.
Griffin Dunne leads the other team, with Wil Wheaton as his computer whiz. Nia Tisby – an Israeli actress who is also an “”In Treatment” producer _ plays a fierce fighter, battling Eliot.
Filled with twists, the story is perplexing, but involving.
