The father of an 18-year-old who was found dead Monday in a Kalihi alleyway made a public plea today for information that leads to the arrest of his daughter’s killer.

“Please help me,” said Steven Rodrigues, at a news conference this afternoon at Honolulu Police Department headquarters. “My daughter was a beautiful girl. She didn’t deserve this.”
The nude body of Iris Rodrigues-Kaikana, a McKinley High School graduate and Kalihi resident, was found about 8 a.m. Monday in an alley between Winant Street and Haka Drive. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office said the 18-year-old was strangled.
Police have made no arrests in the case.
CrimeStoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for anyone who can provide information on the homicide.
State Rep. John Mizuno, D-30th, (Kamehameha Heights, Kalihi Valley, Fort Shafter), who knows the family, has also put up $500 of his own money for a reward.
Mizuno urged people to come forward and stressed that their identities would not be revealed.
“We know people know about this incident,” he said.
