WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals have put center fielder Nyjer Morgan on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left hand and selected the contract of infielder Pete Orr from Triple-A Syracuse.

Washington also is shifting right-hander Jordan Zimmermann from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.

Friday's roster moves come a day after Morgan was injured while stealing a base in Washington's 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The Nationals said Morgan is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Morgan hit .307 with 42 steals for Washington and Pittsburgh this season.

Orr was hitting .245 with nine homers, 50 RBIs and 18 steals for Syracuse. He has already played in the majors with Washington last season and the Atlanta Braves from 2005-07.
