New director named for Cancer Research Center
The University of Hawaii Board of Regents last night approved the appointment of Dr. Michele Carbone to serve as the next director of UH-Manoa’s Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.
Carbone was selected after an 8-month search process that yielded four finalist candidates.
He was interim director since last November and established a cooperative, matrix-managed model that synergizes the efforts of the Cancer Research Center, John A. Burns School of Medicine, clinical care providers, local hospitals and private support groups.
