The O'Neill World Cup of Surfing men's contest is on today at Sunset Beach.

Wave-face heights are in the 8- to 12-foot range. The heats are scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The morning heats will feature the completion of the second round; the afternoon heats will feature the start of the third round.

Hawai'i surfers scheduled to compete today include Sunny Garcia, Andy Irons, Kekoa Bacalso, Joel Centeio, Dusty Payne, Fred Patacchia Jr. and Pancho Sullivan.
