WAILUKU, Hawaii — Clint Eastwood will be on Maui next month to film a portion of his new movie, “Hereafter.”

Maui County Film Commissioner Benita Brazier said Monday that after searching the Hawaiian Islands for three months, the production found what it was looking for on Maui.
Brazier says that from an economic perspective, it’s a nice way to begin a new year.
Eastwood, a part-time resident of Maui, is producing and directing the movie.
The film office says Eastwood will direct three days of shooting during the second week of January. Only one of the stars, Cecile de France, will be on Maui.
“Hereafter” also stars Matt Damon, Mylene Jampanoi, Marthe Keller and Thierry Neuvic.
Eastwood’s “Invictus,” which stars Damon and Morgan Freeman, opens this week.
