Ed Case running in special election
Former U.S. Congressman Ed Case today announced his candidacy for the upcoming special election to fill the remainder of Neil Abercrombie’s term.
Earlier today, Abercrombie announced his intention to resign from the U.S. House of Representatives to pursue his campaign for governor of Hawaii.
“Neil’s mid-term resignation leaves an especially big puka in our delegation at a critical time for our Hawaii and country,” Case said in a statement. “With my seniority, experience, relationships and knowledge of current issues in Congress, I can and will hit the ground running from day one. Hawai‘i’s representation won’t miss a beat. We all believe in a better way forward for our Hawaii and country. I truly look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in D.C.”
Case served from 2002 to 2007.
Case said his campaign is already starting. He his hosting a holiday lunch tomorrow at Central Intermediate School cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
