LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Turner Gill era has begun at Kansas.
The Jayhawks introduced their new football coach on Monday.
The 47-year-old Gill was the head coach at Buffalo, where he compiled a 20-30 record in four years. He guided the Bulls to the Mid-American championship in 2008 and their first bowl game in half a century.
Gill is a former Nebraska quarterback who brought the Huskers to dominance in the early 1980s. He later joined the Nebraska staff under Tom Osborne.
Gill succeeds Mark Mangino, who resigned under pressure with three years left on his contract.
