ISLE BEACH TALK
GEOLOGIST WARNS OF EROSION'S IMPACT
On Pacific Network's Science Channel, geologist Charles T. Blay talks with Jan Tenbruggencate about how Hawai'i beaches are "retreating" and the impact is greater than we can imagine.
Blay tells viewers about the origins of sand, how no two beaches are identical and how, from the black sand beaches of the Big Island of Hawai'i to reef beaches like those on O'ahu, we should be paying greater attention to our receding shoreline, along with organizations focused on conservation, such as the Surfrider Foundation and the Nature Conservancy.
Life is Good here in Hawai'i, but we need to mälama and take care. For more, visit http://SCIENCE.pacificnetwork.tv/GreenPicks.
