Hawaii Democratic Party seeking applications for top post

The Hawaii Democratic Party is now accepting applications to temporarily fill its top post.
Chairman Brian Schatz has said he will resign Jan. 9. He is contemplating running for lieutenant governor next year.
Applications must be received by Jan. 14, and the state Democratic Central Committee will chose an interim chair 10 days after that.
A permanent replacement is to be chosen at the state Democratic convention in May.
