A Big Island man has been charged in connection with the unauthorized use of a Kamuela woman’s bank card to remove cash from her account.
Dustin Lewis, 27, of Kamuela was charged with second-degree identity theft, second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft. He remains in the Kona police cell block on $16,000 bail.
Police said a 23-year-old woman reported losing her wallet on Sept. 7. The woman said that soon after she discovered her wallet missing, someone began to use her bank card to withdraw money from her account.
An investigation led police to Lewis, who was arrested Saturday, police said.
