Hawaii has been chosen by Travel Weekly as the winner in the Best U.S. State Destination category for its seventh annual Readers Choice Awards, according to the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

Travel Weekly reaches more than 180,000 readers, a group comprised of travel professionals.
The HTA said Maui was recognized within the Hawaii category as Best Destination.
