Lakers keep Gasol for $60M

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Pau Gasol has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Gasol's deal extends through the 2013-14 season, and could be worth more than $60 million depending on future salary caps.

"It gives me tremendous peace of mind and safety and confidence," Gasol said yesterday at the Lakers' training complex. "We have a tremendous team, and we all want the same thing."
