Honolulu Fire Department officials suspect fireworks may have been involved in a brush fire that blackened an acre of land in Hawai'i Kai near Kalama Valley this afternoon.
HFD spokesperson Capt. Terry Seelig said the suspicion is based on "what was at the scene" of the fire.
Three engine companies responded to the 12:43 p.m. call to Kealahou Street. The fire did not threaten any structures and was contained within a half-hour.
