9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to be in Honolulu

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will be in Honolulu next week for a special sitting to hear oral arguments on eight cases.
The hearings will be at the University of Hawai'i's William S. Richardson School of Law. Oral arguments will begin at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 13 in the Moot Courtroom, 2515 Dole St. A photo ID is required to get into the courtroom.
Cases will be heard by a three-judge panel of Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt of Los Angeles, Circuit Judge Sidney Thomas of Billings, Mont., and Senior Circuit Judge Melvin Brunetti of Reno, Nev.
The most notable case on the docket is Robinson v. Tripler Army Medical Center, an appeal of the Hawai'i District Court's dismissal of Rufus Robinson's case following the death of his newborn grandson at the military hospital.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals hears appeals of cases decided by federal agencies and federal trial courts in nine western states and two Pacific Island jurisdictions. The court regularly hears cases in San Francisco, Pasadena, Calif., Portland and Seattle.
