Fans hoping local TV airs Pro Bowl

Advertiser Staff

NFL fans will find out today whether the Pro Bowl will be blacked out on local TV.

The league announced the deadline was extended to 11:30 a.m. today for the game to be sold out.

The NFL policy states that all NFL games must be sold out 72 hours before kickoff or the game will not be aired in the local area.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who spoke with media during the AFC team's practice yesterday at Kapolei High School, is optimistic the game will sell out in time.

"There's been a surge in ticket sales, which has been encouraging, so we're going to extend it 24 hours and hopefully get it done by tomorrow," he said.

"We're disappointed we haven't sold out and we're concerned about the blackout," said Frank Supovitz, senior vice president of events. "We're down to 2,000 tickets."

Ticket prices start at $45 and can be purchased:

• By phone — Call Ticketmaster toll free at 877-750-4400;

• Online — www.ticketmaster.com;

• In person — at the Aloha Stadium Box Office, the Blaisdell Box Office and at Macy's.
