MLB: Oswalt says complete steroids list should be released

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Roy Oswalt is ready for baseball to move on from the steroid plague that has tarnished the sport's name.
The Houston Astros ace has a plan on how to do just that after Alex Rodriguez was the only player named in a Sports Illustrated report as one of 104 players who tested positive for steroids in 2003.
"I think the big thing for us is if we get the other names out there instead of releasing one here and there," Oswalt said Saturday when Houston's pitchers and catchers reported to camp. "I mean it's been ... years. Get it over with. Don't let it linger and go on for three more years."
"Let's get them all out there, move on and start playing baseball. That's the worst thing about it ... the way they're going about it."
The team opened camp with questions surrounding their rotation and the starting catching job.
The Astros signed the oft-injured Mike Hampton in the offseason to try to take some pressure off Oswalt, which leaves three spots up for grabs. Brandon Backe, Wandy Rodriguez and Brian Moehler figure to have a good grasp on the remaining spots.
"We've got some good guys," Oswalt said. "The biggest thing is to throw innings. Last year the guys staying healthy was the main problem. If we can pick up the innings it would take a load off the bullpen."
Staying healthy will be most key for Hampton, who has struggled with injuries since 2004.
The veteran came back to the Astros after missing two of the past three seasons due to injuries. Hampton is looking to rediscover the success he had in his previous stint with Houston. The 14-year veteran pitched from 1994-99 with the Astros and finished second in 1999 to Randy Johnson in the National League Cy Young race, when he had 22 wins.
"The only concern we have is that he's healthy," Houston manager Cecil Cooper said. "We just have to make sure we continue to make progress."
