Conditions will remain mostly dry and pleasant again for Presidents Day, except for scattered light showers that favor the mountain or windward areas, according to the National Weather Service forecast for today.

The moderate to fresh trade winds will continue due to a persistent, strong, low-level high-pressure area north of the islands, the forecast said.

There will be a slight increase in trade-wind showers Wednesday as a weak shear line passes across the state. Shower activity will remain focused mainly over windward and mountain areas into the weekend.
