Hawaiian Air posts net loss for 4th quarter, profit for full year

Hawaiian Airlines said reported a net loss of $11.9 million during the fourth quarter of 2008.
On a per share basis, the company lost 23 cents. That compares with a profit of $3.3 million, or 7 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter.
The state's largest airline said its fourth quarter results were affected by the downturn in the national economy which led to fewer Mainland visitors to Hawai'i.
For the full year, Hawaiian reported a profit of $28.6 million, or 57 cents a share, up from a profit of $7.1 million, or $0.15 cents per share a year earlier
Shares of Hawaiian slipped 22 cents to close at $3.61 on the Nasdaq market today.
