$1.5M will upgrade school to accommodate disabled
Gov. Linda Lingle has released $1.5 million for design and construction of improvements at Waimea High School to meet Americans With Disabilities Act guidelines.
Project work includes design and construction of ramps, elevators or chairlifts to access second-floor facilities, as well as other measures to ensure that the campus is fully accessible to students and visitors.
Lingle previously released $710,841 in design and construction money for this project.
Design work has started and is scheduled to be completed in June. Construction is scheduled to begin in September and be completed in August 2010.
