CFB: UConn RB Brown has 208 yards rushing in 1st half

TORONTO — Connecticut's Donald Brown, the nation's leading rusher, had 208 yards rushing — 6 short of his career high — on 16 carries in the first half against Buffalo in the International Bowl today.

The junior, who's averaging 151.83 yards per game, scored 45-yard run, and set up another touchdown with a career-best 75-yard run. Brown's touchdown was his 18th of the season.

Despite Brown's production, the Huskies trailed 20-17 at the break because of five turnovers.

Rutgers' Ray Rice holds the International Bowl record with 280 yards rushing in a 52-30 win Ball State last year in the bowl's second year.

Georgia Tech's P.J. Daniels holds the bowl record with 307 yards rushing against Tulsa in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl.
