Suspect in Oct. 31 shooting of 16-year-old boy arrested

Police yesterday arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the Oct. 31 shooting of a 16-year-old boy at a Kalihi park.
The suspect, who gave no address, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder at 7 a.m. on Kuapapa Place in Kalihi. He was being held last night pending charges.
On Oct. 31, two groups of males were arguing at a Kalihi park, but the parties fled before police arrived. Later that evening, two males from one group tracked down the rival group playing basketball at a park near Kopke and Waterhouse streets and began to argue again.
Someone fired two shots at a 16-year-old boy, striking him in the ankle. An investigation led police to the 19-year-old man, who was arrested without incident.
