A man believed to 45 to 50 years old was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition after being assaulted in the Lanakila area early yesterday morning, police said.

Police said the man was found about 2 a.m. unconscious and severely beaten near the corner of North School Street and Lanakila Avenue.

Witnesses reported seeing two men walking away from the victim toward Lanakila Housing. Both men were described as in their 20s; one is 5 feet 6 and the other is 6 feet tall.
