Speedskating: Lee, Wolf lead at sprint worlds

MOSCOW � Defending champions Lee Kyou-hyuk of South Korea and Jenny Wolf of Germany set track records Saturday to win the opening races at the world sprint speedskating championship.
Lee won the men's 500 meters in 34.96 seconds, edging Keiichiro Nagashima of Japan by 0.05 seconds. Yu Fengtong of China was third.
Wolf was clocked at 38.00 in the 500 at the Krylatskoye Ice Stadium. Wang Beixing of China finished in 38.10 for second, while Lee Sang-hwa of South Korea was third.
The 1,000 is scheduled for Saturday.
The 500 and 1,000 will be repeated Sunday to determine the overall champions.
