NFL: Lions hire Scott Linehan as offensive coordinator

ALLEN PARK, Mich. — New Lions coach Jim Schwartz has hired ex-St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan as Detroit's offensive coordinator.
The Lions withheld terms of the deal today.
The Rams fired Linehan this season after the team opened up 0-4.
Linehan became Rams coach in 2006. Before that, he spent four years as offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings. He also coached at the college level for 13 years.
Schwartz took the Lions' top job after Rod Marinelli's firing for leading Detroit to the NFL's first 0-16 season.
