A 28-year-old Kalihi woman from has been arrested on suspicion of abusing her children with a hot iron.

Police said a teacher at the children's school reported that they had been burned. When interviewed, the children, a 6-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, said their mother had burned them with an iron for not going to sleep.

Police began investigating on Thursday and arrested the woman on Friday. The mother has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
