The University of Hawai'i, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its inaugural football season, will be accepting $50 nonrefundable deposits for new season tickets starting Feb. 4.

Cost for the seven-home-game 2009 schedule is the same as last season. Deposits for new season tickets can be paid online at www.HawaiiAthletics.com and are for seats in the upper sideline and end zone sections. Current season-ticket holders will be mailed renewal information in March.

Fans placing deposits by March 27 will receive a coupon for four free tickets to a 2009 men's volleyball or baseball game and a coupon from Rainbowtique for 25 percent off UH merchandise. Depositors will also qualify for the chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas (no purchase required and entry forms for the Las Vegas trip will be available at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office).

The nonrefundable deposit is per order and not per ticket and can be applied to new season-ticket purchases only. Following the completion of the renewal process in June, fans will be contacted in the order that their deposit was received to secure their seat assignments and finalize payment.

Recruiting celebration: UH fans are invited to celebrate the 2009 football recruiting class Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Merchant Street in front of Murphy's Bar & Grill Downtown. Head coach Greg McMackin will discuss each of the student-athletes who officially signed with the Warriors earlier in the day and there will be video highlights of the recruits. The first day that football recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent with NCAA schools is Feb. 4. Admission is free, and food and beverages will be sold.

University of Hawai'i baseball season tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow.

Season-ticket prices have been lowered to $135 for adults, $120 for senior citizens and $50 for students (4 years old through high school) and UH students in the upper level (formerly the red level) at the refurbished Les Murakami Stadium. Manoa Maniacs tickets are also $50. Tickets in the lower and mid levels (formerly the blue and orange levels) are $185, along with a $80 premium seat contribution.

Season tickets can be purchased online at www.HawaiiAthletics.com, at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, or by phone at 944-2697.
