Suspect sought in Big Island vehicle break-ins

Big Island police are hoping someone can identify this person, who is a suspect in a series of car break-ins.

Hilo detectives are requesting the public's help in identifying a man photographed by a surveillance camera at the scene of several car break-ins on Kukila Street. One vehicle was also removed from the scene, but was later recovered. The thefts occurred between 8 p.m. Dec.18 and 6 a.m. Dec. 19.

Police ask that anyone who recognizes the individual or has any information on this case call Detective John Rodrigues at 808-961-2382 or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 808-935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 in Hilo or 808-329-8181
