A key Hawai'i Convention Center executive has been named to the national board of directors of the Professional Convention Management Association .

RandyTanaka, assistant general manager of the Hawai'i Convention Center, brings 31 years of hospitality industry experience to the board position and has been with the center since 1996.

The appointment was announced at the association's annual meeting in New Orleans Jan. 11 - 14.

Joe Davis, SMG general manager of the center said the position is an honor for Tanaka and a boost to the center through networking and "providing the latest, cutting edge facilities and meetings industry information."
