Pedestrian, 69, injured after struck by vehicle
A 69-year-old woman was seriously injured yesterday morning when she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Ke'eaumoku Street near Ala Moana Center.
Police said a 73-year-old Honolulu women was driving a 2006 Honda multipurpose vehicle south on Ke'eaumoku when the vehicle hit the pedestrian near the intersection with Rycroft Street at 6:05 a.m.
The pedestrian was in a crosswalk but may have been walking against the traffic signal, police said. Neither speeding, alcohol or drugs were involved, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with head and bodily injuries, but was upgraded to serious condition, police said. The driver was not injured.
