High surf advisory issued for south-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the south-facing shores of all islands. The advisory is expected to remain in effect through 6 p.m. Friday.

Surf of 6 to 8 feet is expected along the south-facing shores.
Elsewhere on Oahu today, look for surf of 4 to 6 feet along west-facing shores, flat to a foot along north-facing shores and 1 to 3 feet along east-facing shores.
Outlook through Monday, July 6: Southerly swells will continue to keep surf above advisory levels along south-facing shores into the weekend, before diminishing Sunday and Monday.
A tiny north swell and a small northeast swell will bring small surf to north-facing shores Thursday through Saturday.
